1. Information Collection and Use

1.1 Personal Information (Authentication)

To use the optional profile and cloud features of EmuCoreH (such as player profiles, achievements, leaderboards, friends, play-time statistics and cloud emulator settings), you may create an account or sign in using Firebase Authentication (email and password, or Google Sign-In).

When you create or sign in to an account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Profile picture (if available from Google Sign-In)
• Firebase User ID

This information is used solely to identify your account, provide cloud synchronization, and manage your account across devices. You can use the App without an account; profile features are optional.

1.2 Local Data and Files

EmuCoreH is an emulator. It requires access to your device's storage so that you can select folders containing game images and BIOS files, and so that the App can write save data, memory cards and save states.

• Access: We only access folders and files that you explicitly select through the system file picker. The App never scans your device for unrelated files or personal data.
• Privacy: All game images, BIOS files, save data and settings remain on your device unless you explicitly enable a cloud feature.

1.3 Cloud Storage (Firebase Firestore)

If you sign in and use cloud features, the following data may be stored securely using Google Firebase and associated with your account:

• Player profile, display name and player tag
• Game library statistics and total play time
• Custom achievement progress and unlocks
• Leaderboard entries
• Friend requests and friend list
• Cloud emulator settings profiles
• Registered device information that you choose to make public

This data is used only to provide the cloud features and to synchronize your information across your devices.

1.4 Usage Data and Analytics

We use third-party services to monitor and improve the App:

• Google Analytics for Firebase — collects anonymous usage statistics and technical events (for example, onboarding completion and emulation start/end events) to help improve the App. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization are explicitly disabled; we do not use your data for advertising.

1.5 Purchases (Google Play Billing)

EmuCoreH offers an optional Pro purchase that unlocks additional features. All purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We only receive confirmation of whether a purchase is active so the App can unlock the corresponding features.

1.6 Game Metadata (IGDB)

EmuCoreH uses metadata derived from the IGDB API to identify games and display information such as titles, cover artwork, descriptions, release information, genres, and developers or publishers.

When retrieving metadata or cover art, the App may send identifiers such as a game's filename, title or serial to the matching service in order to find the correct game. No personal information is shared for this purpose.

1.7 Optional Integrations

The following features are disabled by default and only work if you enable them:

• Discord — if you link your Discord account, the App stores the access token on your device and may share your game title and serial number with Discord as Rich Presence while you play. You can unlink or disable this at any time.
• RetroAchievements — if you sign in to RetroAchievements, your RetroAchievements username and token are stored on your device and sent to retroachievements.org to track achievements and leaderboards.
• Google Drive backup — if you enable Google Drive backup, the App uses the restricted drive.file scope to create and manage backup archives in your own Google Drive. Backups include settings, save states, memory cards, cheats, patches and (optionally) texture packs. You can revoke access or disconnect at any time, and we cannot access any other files in your Drive.

1.8 Feedback and Diagnostics

If you send feedback through the App, we collect the message you write, the category, and any files you choose to attach. If you enable the diagnostics option, the report also includes technical information to help us reproduce issues:

• App version and build number
• Emulator core name and version
• Android version
• Device manufacturer and model
• SoC (chipset) name
• Game title and serial, if the feedback is about a specific game

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the App.
• Authenticate your account.
• Synchronize your cloud data across devices.
• Optimize emulator performance and improve compatibility.
• Analyze App usage and fix technical issues.
• Respond to your feedback and provide customer support.
• Deliver optional integrations that you enable.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

3.1 Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the services described in this Privacy Policy or to comply with legal obligations.

3.2 Account Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your EmuCoreH account and all associated cloud data at any time.

After verifying your request, we will permanently delete your account and associated cloud data within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain certain information. You can also delete your local profile data at any time by clearing the App's data or using the reset option in Settings.

Deleting your account does not remove game images, BIOS files, save files, or other local data stored on your device.

4. Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate and improve the App. These providers may process data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf. Services used include:

• Google Play Services
• Firebase Authentication
• Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase)
• Google Analytics for Firebase
• Google Play Billing
• Google Drive API (only when you enable Drive backup)
• IGDB API (game metadata)

Optional integrations, when enabled by you, may also involve Discord and RetroAchievements. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of these providers for additional information.

5. Security

The security of your data is important to us.

We use secure cloud infrastructure provided by Firebase and Google Cloud to protect your information, and access to your cloud data is restricted to your own account. However, no method of electronic storage or Internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will promptly delete it.

Content Notice
EmuCoreH is an emulator designed to run software provided by the user. We do not distribute games, BIOS files, or copyrighted content. Users are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use any game images, ROMs or BIOS files loaded into the App. EmuCoreH is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sega. Sega, Dreamcast, NAOMI, NAOMI 2 and Atomiswave are trademarks of their respective owners.

7. External Links and Third-Party Content

The App may contain links to third-party websites or display content obtained from third-party services such as IGDB.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external services.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will become effective immediately after the updated version is published within the App or on our website. We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
